In training for English language examination, the academy has designed modules and enrichment classes to train students to be proficient writers and communicators. The faculty understands that candidates who come under the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary categories are predominantly students who have to sit for their respective National Examinations such as Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) or GCE O’ and A’ Levels, thus they designed the modules in accordance to what will best help the students in reaching their goal of acing their English language examinations.
As for Primary English, students will be equipped with the requisite skills in their enrichment classes to ace their end-of-year examinations and PSLE at an effective and accelerated pace. This level of training consists of topics which will cover oral examination by engaging students in activities such as reading aloud, picture description, and conversation. It will also cover topics on listening comprehension, situational writing, composition through picture and continuous writing, grammar, vocabulary, synthesis and transformation, editing, close passages, comprehension on Multiple Choice Questions and Open-ended, graphics stimulus, and punctuation.
With regard to Secondary English Language, students will be equipped with the requisite skills in their enrichment classes to ace their end-of-year examinations and GCE O’ Levels at an effective and accelerated pace. The topics to be covered are oral examination through reading aloud with a context and spoken interaction, comprehension and summary, narrative writing, expository writing, personal recount, discursive writing, situational writing, and speech writing.
For the Junior College General Paper, students will be equipped with the requisite skills in their enrichment classes to ace their end-of-year examinations and GCE A’ Levels General Paper at an effective and accelerated pace. The topics to be covered are oral examination by means of Project Work
– Oral Presentation, comprehension, Summary and application questions, and essay writing in style of expository and persuasive.
In line of the Polytechnics/Centralised Institutes and Institute of Technical Education, students will be equipped with the requisite skills in their enrichment classes to ace their end-of-year examinations andwritten reports for projects at an effective and accelerated pace. The topics to be covered are oral assessment for in-class presentation and/or elevator pitch, report writing, rebuttals and managingcritics, letter writing, and resume and testimonials.
At the Public Speaking Academy, the faculty endeavors to keep their class sizes small so that students can better learn from the trainers and engage in in-class discussions. The maximum number of students per class is capped at eight, requiring for a minimum of four students to commence a class. Public Speaking Academy continues to exert its efforts in transforming the public speaking culture of
Singapore into a more vibrant one. Through its customized training programs that were based on theclients’ need, it is of assurance that the training which includes linguistic mastery and enrichment courses will be more effective.
