Pregnancy Crisis Service (PCS) is a support service under Family Life Society in Singapore addressing unwanted pregnancy issues and concerns, open opportunities for social workers who will be responsible for providing support service and case management services.
The team behind the support organization has been passionate and committed to help those who seek fair insights and unprejudiced opinions about unwanted pregnancy. The phone lines of PCS are open for women who suspects unwanted pregnancy as they observe how their body show signs of pregnancy and for those who already know they’re pregnant but are not sure on what should be done next. Abortion is least likely encouraged as they believe on the value of life.
The Pregnancy Crisis Service support servicing company is seeking for those qualified individuals who are able to do several duties and responsibilities and is equipped with knowledge and skills. Interested applicants should be able to manage casework of all PCS clients and provide after care support and referral services, conduct assessment of clients’ needs, screening, counselling, support and crisis intervention, collaborate with therapists and volunteers to meet the needs of the clients, plans, executes and evaluates on-going PCS’ programmes and services, networks and partners with relevant stakeholders and organizations and others.
Moreover, a recognized degree in Social Work, Min 5 years’ experience in social work, Relevant experience working with youth, couples and families, Good network connections with various family agencies and government agencies, passionate about working with people with a mission mind-set, excellent communications and inter-personal skills, well organized and able to multi-task, and experience in volunteer management will be an advantage. These skills and knowledge are essential to the company as they don’t only provide services for random people but to those who are in need of specialized services that demand delicate approach and carefully planned means and methods.

Aside from social worker, more volunteers are also needed at PCS. The company is now recruiting for new batch of volunteers willing to help and are able to relate to woman who is experiencing anxiety from unwanted pregnancy. One day in a week is a great contribution in giving a source of courage and peace of mind to the women who are confused, scared, and restless. Volunteers are expected to manage hotline or other customer assistance providing tasks.
