PRIME YOURSELVES FOR THE NATIONAL PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION OF 2015!
The Public Speaking Academy, a fast growing local and regional influence in the personal and professional training centre in Singapore announces the fourth National Public Speaking Competition for secondary and tertiary education levels.
Focused on accentuating the aggregate confidence of individuals to express and impress, the Public Speaking Academy is honoured to receive the strong support of Education Institutions as they begin efforts in transforming the public speaking culture into a more vibrant one.
This year, the Public Speaking Academy is into the fourth year, organizing the National Public Speaking Competition for the secondary and tertiary education levels. They believe that through a mutual learning environment, the contestants’ competency in public speaking can then be raised to a higher level at an accelerated pace.
The National Public Speaking Competition seeks to encourage contestants to hone their public speaking skills on a nation-wide platform. It also aims to foster closer bonds among contestants and enthusiasts in a conducive and interactive environment; to showcase the varied talents of contestants and allow for facilitated skills exchange; and to challenge the contestants to think fast on their feet and respond cogently to an impromptu speech topic. There are differentiating elements between the National Public Speaking Competition and that of other public speaking contests that are held at similar or smaller scales.
As with the National Public Speaking Competition, the larger platform created allows for key stakeholders to congregate and pool resources to effect a greater and accelerated change. Also, instead of admitting only one representative per school, the organizing committee of the National Public Speaking Competition admits up to 10 representatives per school to encourage more students to experience the benefits of public speaking through the competition.
Each school is allowed to send a maximum number of 10 contestants to take part in the National Public Speaking Competition. Due to the limited number of contestants who can represent their schools, schools are encouraged to conduct their internal selection for their representatives.
The Qualifying Round will allow the professional panel of adjudicators to select the Top 10 contestants based on their aggregate scores (for both Prepared Speech and Impromptu Speech component) who will then advance into the Grand Finals. In the Grand finals, the Champion will be crowned 2014 National Champion of Public speaking. The 1st-runner up 2nd-runner up will also be selected in the Grand Finals. All finalists will be awarded a trophy for their excellence in advancing into the finals.
