Rhythm and Wave, a music school in Singapore dedicated to accelerating people’s journey through music, offers courses structured to the students’ pace whether they are aspiring performers or casual music lovers who wish to improve their musical abilities.
The music school offers six musical courses. First is the Keyboard Course, in where students will learn to sing-and play, as well as learn the basics of theory and on how to accompany, how to do instrumental playing, and eventually be exposed to aural training and various playing styles such as jazz and blues.
The class for one student, and two and four are available each having one hour per lesson. This course can be undergone by beginners, intermediate and even advanced students.
Next is the Guitar Course, in where students will get to sing and play while learning the theory fundamentals, and also discover knowledge and skills on how to accompany, develop skills in basic fingerstyle, and eventually undertake aural training and various playing styles such as jazz and blues. The class is also available for one student, and two and four each having one hour per lesson. This course can be undergone by beginners, intermediate and even advanced students.
Another course being offered by Rhythm and Wave is the Vocal Course, in where students will be introduced to customised vocal drills and techniques essential to develop one’s unique voice as well as promote individuality and artistic expression. The class is also available for one student, and two and four each having one hour per lesson. This course can be undergone by beginners, intermediate and even advanced students. The duration of the course depends on the discretion of the student.
Theory Course is also being offered, and this course caters for pop students who wish to understand more about the theory of music. Students may also choose to sit for ABRSM graded examinations for proper certifications. This class is available for individual teaching only, one hour per lesson. It can take up by beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
Students can also undergo Harmony Course being offered by Rhythm and Wave. This course aims to develop vocal sensitivity and agility as well as ability to adjust and match pitch essential for backup singers to harmonise and complement the main vocal line effectively. The class is available for students of three number and above, with one hour per lesson. An addition will be conducted for the 3-month fundamental course.
And the last musical course offered by Rhythm and Wave is the Fingerstyle Guitar in which the playing focuses on harmonics, arpeggios, hammer on and many other techniques which allow guitarist to perform multiple parts of a musical arrangement simultaneously. It is available for individual class only, also with one hour per lesson. It can be availed of by beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
The instructors of Rhythm and Wave are industry professionals, each with over a decade of experience performing on local and international stages. Many people may even recognise some of the instructors from performances on television, music cafes as well as professional platforms such as the Esplanade Theatre and Concert Hall.
