The video tells the story of Singapore in the most entertaining and unique way by using a mixture of sand art, animation, stop motion, music, dance and film. The project combines these different art forms to signify the growth of the people and its city that has been created out of nothing within a span of 50 years.
Grid Synergy’s character sculpts a seemingly unimpressive handful of sand into different phrases of a growing city while he spurs the hesitant protagonist (a young dancer) in her journey to mastery. The sand artist sculpting the sand is a metaphor for the creation of Singapore and the hand is a symbol of Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s intricate work, building the nation while equipping its citizens.
